Bartender- Comfort Inn JFK Airport

We are looking for a service-oriented bartender with mixologist skills to join our team at Fly Inn Bar at Comfort Inn JFK. Ideal candidates will have experience behind the bar, strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and enthusiasm for guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Take care of guests both behind the bar and in the Lobby Lounge, treating every guest as your own
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of the bar and beverage preparation areas
• Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including fine wine, cocktails, beer, and appetizers
• Use bar tools correctly, including proper pours and glassware choices
• Prepare classic cocktails consistently and efficiently, knowing recipes and ingredients
• Upsell and promote substitutes based on our selection of offerings
• Craft delicious beverages with consistent standards, focusing on quality and efficiency
• Demonstrate knowledge of both classic and modern classic cocktails, as well as beer, wine, and spirits
• Learn or create cocktail recipes with attention to flavor profiles and guest preferences
• Interact with all guests, build regular clientele, and maintain a knowledge database of preferences and recommendations
• Follow open, running, and closing cleaning and checkout procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Handle accurate cash handling and payment processing
• Work as a team player within the Lobby Lounge and the hotel, prioritizing guest needs appropriately

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years in a bartending role, crafting specialty cocktails in a high-volume, elevated food and beverage organization
• Extensive knowledge of beer (including Lagers, Stouts, Ports, IPAs, draft), wine (including varietals, regions, and food pairing), coffee, tea, and spirits
• Knowledge of classic cocktail recipes
• Proficiency in math and cash-handling skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
