About the Role
The Bartender mixes high-quality beverages, delivers prompt and consistent service at guest and service bars, and ensures a hospitable and safe experience for guests and coworkers. The role requires in-depth knowledge of the vessel and skyline, adherence to the RESPECT Service System, and the ability to maintain bar operations efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers as outlined in the RESPECT Service System.
- Accurately follow recipes for all beverages and maintain thorough knowledge of offerings and prices.
- Deliver prompt and consistent bar service to guests and servers throughout the cruise.
- Set up and break down the bar, stocking and restocking according to par specifications and cleaning in compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the bar, common areas, and service stations, including cleaning glasses, utensils, equipment, and work areas.
- Accurately process guest purchases using the point-of-sale system, collect payments, and return change.
- Provide guests with information on beverage and food menus, entertainment options, cruise routes, and points of interest.
- Perform additional assigned duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate) required.
- At least one (1) year of previous bartending experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of beverage recipes.
- Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain high levels of organization, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, including listening, assessing situations, and suggesting solutions.
- Working knowledge of computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites.
- Ability to understand and convey written and verbal information to coworkers and guests.
- Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and all major holidays.
