Overview
A Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring a great customer experience while maintaining a clean and organized bar area. They engage with patrons, recommend drinks, and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drink Preparation: Mix, garnish, and serve drinks according to recipes and customer preferences. Maintain knowledge of a wide variety of beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and spirits.
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers, take orders, and provide recommendations based on preferences. Build relationships with regular patrons to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Cash Handling: Handle payments, operate cash registers, and manage tabs accurately. Ensure proper recording of sales and compliance with tipping policies.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock bar inventory, including liquor, mixers, and supplies. Conduct inventory checks and communicate stock needs to management.
- Cleanliness and Safety: Keep the bar area clean and organized, including washing glasses and equipment. Follow all food and beverage safety regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a bartender or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of mixology, drink recipes, and techniques.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
- Must meet the legal age requirement to serve alcohol.
