Bartender

About the role

The Bartender provides both the flexibility and the knowledge to multitask in a restaurant and/or catering atmosphere as a bartender. This position is located in the U. S. Naval Academy's Non-Appropriated Fund Instrumentality (NAFI), Naval Academy Business Services Division (NABSD) Retail Dining and Hospitality, Annapolis, Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Help Employee prepares and serves all types of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages from a full-service bar.
• Receives payment or charges to member's account.
• Affords assistance in taking inventory and maintaining records.
• Keeps bar area clean and keeps area stocked properly at all times.
• Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils.
• Executes other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Position involves prolonged standing, walking, reaching.
• Frequent light to moderate lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds is required.
• Occasionally will lift kegs weighing over 100 pounds onto dolly to transport to specified locations.
• Must meet minimum age requirements (21 years of age).

Qualifications

• In order to meet the basic requirements of the Bartender position, NA-7405-05, you must meet following:
• Experience performing the duties of a server and/or bartender, which may include, but are not limited to mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, knowledge of a wide variety of beverages, ability to combine ingredients such as liquors, soda, water, sugar, bitters, and fruit and the ability to mix exotic drinks.
• Ability to lift object weight up to 50 pounds.
