Bartender

About the role

The Hudson Garden Grill at the New York Botanical Garden is seeking a skilled and friendly bartender to join our team. As a bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in the bar area.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations.
• Sets up assigned bars and requisitions and stocks all necessary supplies.
• Maintains stock, prepares, cures, and stores perishable items to ensure quality.
• Greets guests courteously and processes drink orders.
• Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks according to standard recipes.
• Detects and acts upon signs of guest intoxication.
• Demonstrates knowledge of liquor laws and handles cash transactions responsibly.
• Cleans and organizes the bar area, including washing and sterilizing stemware.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of liquor laws and regulations.
• Experience in a similar role preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of alcohol service laws.
