Bartender at Counting House

Specific Responsibilities

• Fulfills all steps of service.
• Prepares drinks according to recipe standards.
• Knows all drink names, ingredients, method of preparation, appropriate glassware, and garnishes.
• Knows all wines by the glass and at least five wines in each category on the wine list in varying price ranges and styles.
• Knows specialty beverages, including single malt scotches, cognacs, specialty drinks, and beer lists.
• Knows all menu descriptions of the bar menu and dining room menu.
• Maintains up-to-date stock levels.
• Completes daily inventory and informs servers and managers of any changes.
• Verifies guests are at least 21 years old.
• Sells beverages responsibly with the customer's best interest in mind.
• Maintains smooth service flow between bar and server requests.
• Completes all side work as outlined in the manual.
• Reports to work on time and ready to work scheduled shifts.
• Maintains a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests.
• Maintains a clean, orderly appearance in the restaurant service area.
• Aids in executing any tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends).
• Responsible, dependable, punctual.
• Strong communication skills; must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
• Clean and professional appearance.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm for all things 21c.
• Exhibits strong beverage knowledge.
• Must pass a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods.
• Requires lifting of up to 50 lbs.
