Bartender Assistant | Pilina | Full-Time

About the role

Bartender Assistant in the lobby lounge, Pilina, at Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui, Hawai'i. Provides beverage service, prepares garnishes, and ensures high standards for the bar operation.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to daily checklists and duties
• Create storeroom requisitions and stock bars and service stations
• Prepare garnishes, syrups, fresh juices, and assist the bar team
• Maintain an organized inventory of bar ingredients, spirits, and supplies
• Ensure all food and beverage items are fresh and of the highest quality
• Maintain bar and service stations with necessary equipment and supplies
• Clean glassware and manage recycling and waste disposal
• Know all menu items, garnishes, and preparation methods for food and beverage venues
• Follow State of Hawaii & EHC food handling safety standards
• Organize time to complete side work according to shift demand
• Provide engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service to guests
• Focus on guest needs, remain calm and courteous

Requirements

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Service-oriented, capable of communicating with all levels of authority
• Basic computational ability
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email functions
• Basic beverage knowledge (wines, liquor, beer, and classic cocktails)
• Ability to multi-task, be organized, and prioritize tasks
• Superior guest service skills, team player
• Professional working environment and attitude

Qualifications

• High School diploma (or equivalent) and/or vocational training
• A minimum of one year of food and beverage experience
• Previous culinary or bartender experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of beverages, mixology techniques, and drink recipes

Pay

$22.60 hourly rate

Schedule

Varying schedules, including overnight, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.
