Bartender Apprentice - Steady Extra (Flamingo LV)

About the role

The primary responsibility of the bartender apprentice is to provide prompt, courteous service to restaurant patrons. The bartender apprentice ensures guests are satisfied with their dining experience by keeping the bar clean and stocked, and engaging guests in a professional and genuine manner while maintaining a cheerful demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Arrive at work on time, fully dressed, clean, and prepared with all required work cards, credentials, and uniform.
• Prepare the bar area for daily service and alert management of any maintenance issues or missing product.
• Perform all opening, closing, and side duties required of a bartender apprentice.
• Greet guests using the 10’/5’ rule and engage in cheerful, genuine conversation.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bar before, during, and after the shift.
• Ensure all areas are clean and free of debris.
• Maintain bar seats throughout service, clearing dishes between parties as necessary.
• Stock all side stations with condiments and supplies.
• Continuously dispose of trash and waste in the restaurant to the proper receptacle.
• Engage with guests professionally and genuinely by maintaining cheerful conversation and delivering required service.
• Depart the restaurant on time after completing all designated functions for the day.
• Assist the bartender in providing excellent guest service.
• Provide water refills as necessary.
• Assist in non-alcoholic beverage service.
• Understand and execute the artisanal coffee beverage program.
• Provide top-tier guest service and assist with any food or non-alcoholic beverage requests.

Requirements

• 1 year of prior bartender apprentice experience.
• Valid SNHD health card.
• Common knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices preferred.
• Effective communication in English, both verbal and written, in a professional manner.
• Neat and professional appearance.
• Professional interactions with customers, co-workers, and management.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Schedule flexibility, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment involving constant public interaction.
• Requires standing, walking, and lifting a maximum of 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Shifts may vary based on business needs.
• Must be able to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.
