About the role
A bartender provides an excellent guest experience by crafting signature cocktails and offering recommendations for local craft beers and wines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
- Interact with customers, take orders, and serve drinks
- Assess customers' needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
- Plan and present the bar menu
- Check customers' identification to confirm it meets legal drinking age
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Stay guest-focused and provide an excellent guest experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Maintain superior knowledge of classic cocktails
- Exemplify outstanding communication skills and create unique experiences for guests
- Demonstrate a strong and efficient work ethic, including keeping a clean and tidy work area, guest areas, polishing glassware, plate-ware, and silverware
- Complete opening and closing duties, including completing prep and checklists
- Adhere to cash handling policies, perform credit card charges, provide accurate bills, and ring orders accurately at the time of sale
- Understand pour-cost control, participate in inventory, and determine adequate par levels
- Perform all other duties as specified by supervisor
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks
- Computer literacy
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked, and clean
- Relevant training certificate
