About the role

We’re Sonesta International Hotels—the 8th largest hotel company in the U.S., operating a dynamic mix of full‑service and focused hotels across major cities. The Bartender is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives covering the social venues of the hotel. The bartender sets up, services, and breaks down the bar area ensuring a high level of quality, consistency, and service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, read and listen to determine beverage preferences, make recommendations, and take drink orders.
• Plan drink menus and inform customers about new beverages and specials.
• Act as a server when needed.
• Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages to customers.
• Check identification to ensure customers are of legal drinking age.
• Take inventory and order supplies to keep the bar and tables well‑stocked.
• Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensure accurate charges, return correct change, and balance the cash register.
• Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
• Develop new cocktail recipes.
