Duties

• Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
• Selects proper premix and garnish for mixed drinks.
• Serves patrons directly or delivers to wait staff.
• Operates cash register and handles payment and change.
• Prepares documentation for cash funds accountability.
• Sets up and maintains the bar and work area.
• Maintains cleanliness and stock levels of bar supplies.
• Cleans bar equipment, glassware, and utensils.
• Assists higher-level bartenders as needed.
• Completes required training in serving alcohol beverages.
• Identifies and addresses unruly or intoxicated patrons.
• Adheres to safety regulations and uses required safety equipment.
• Prompts reporting of workplace hazards and injuries.

Qualifications

• Experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale.
• Completion of a bartender’s training school may substitute for experience.
• Experience recognizing and addressing intoxicated or unruly patrons.
• Experience with proper cash handling procedures.
• Ability to stoop, stand, and walk for long periods.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Working knowledge of sanitation procedures.
