About the role
The Barporter is responsible for maintaining a stocked, clean, and organized work area at all times, providing fast, fun, friendly, fresh, and focused support to the service staff servicing guests.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and fully stocked front bar, service bar, or other assigned area during shifts.
- Adhere to established company and departmental procedures, guidelines, and policies, including guest service, warehouse/requisition procedures, sanitation, safety, and organization.
- Perform scheduled cleaning tasks in assigned areas, such as:
- Glass washer and ice machine maintenance
- Cleaning walls, stainless steel, floors, and drains
- Emptying and sanitizing trash/recycling receptacles and related equipment
- Refilling towel dispensers
- Use cleaning equipment, supplies, and chemicals correctly, differentiating between products for their intended use.
- Maintain cleanliness of stock, sweep and mop floors, remove trash, replenish empty bottles, and notify managers for ordering.
- Handle trash/recyclable removal, transport, disposal, and cleaning of receptacles and related equipment.
- Perform warewashing and ensure proper handling and storage of items.
- Deliver supplies, liquor, beer, ice, and requisitions efficiently, accurately, and on time.
Requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate in English.
- Prior experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, take direction, and assist bartenders and cocktail servers.
- Shift assignments may be irregular, covering days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
- Able to lift, push, or pull up to 150 pounds (e.g., one keg).
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, lift, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat, and grasp for extended periods.
- Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
- Ability to access all areas of responsibility, including coolers, underneath counters/equipment, sinks, and high-reaching areas.
- Exposure to casino-related environmental factors, such as secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and hectic environments.
