Barista, Woodlake Market
Specific Responsibilities
- Greets guests with enthusiasm, presents them with the menu and takes accurate guest orders.
- Suggests food and beverages to guests using appropriate methods to upsell, including the health benefits of supplements and superfood smoothie add-ons.
- Processes payment transactions for both internal and external guests in a timely manner.
- Communicates effectively with guests and assists with any questions they may have.
- Observes guests and ensures their satisfaction with the food and service.
- Provides service recovery if necessary and involves appropriate leadership when needed.
- Promptly responds to guests with any additional requests or questions regarding the menu or supplement offerings.
- Understands and communicates products and services available at the resort to the guest.
- Aids with stocking, dry goods inventory levels, and maintaining restaurant par stock levels and side station at respected locations.
- Utilizes all café SOP’s and follows opening and closing checklists consistently.
- Assists Café Coordinator with R&D of monthly drinks specials and monthly smoothie specials at respected locations.
- Operates all café equipment, including espresso machine, coffee brewer, Vitamix blenders, espresso grinders, cold-brew + nitro taps.
- Prepares and presents beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Serves prepared food items.
- Understands the health benefits that fruits and vegetables provide.
- Collects and processes payments from customers, including cash, credit/debit cards, and gift cards.
- Maintains a clean and hygienic work area.
- Dismantles and cleans machinery daily to uphold sanitary standards.
- Displays merchandise and supplements in an aesthetic and functional manner.
- Maintains and orders inventory as needed.
- Completes opening and closing duties for each shift.
- Cross trains in back of house operations, including juicing operations, if needed.
- Completes all tasks as assigned by leadership in a timely manner.
- Must obtain food safety certification if not certified already.
Skills/Requirements
- Must be 18+ years old to apply.
- Previous experience or familiarity with varieties of coffee drinks and equipment preferred.
- Learn2Serve Certification preferred.
- Previous experience with some food preparation preferred.
- Strong communication, time management, and attention to detail needed.
- The ability to walk and stand for the majority of each shift, and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
Pay & Schedule
This is a part-time position at Woodlake Market. Shifts will vary on weekdays and weekends, ranging from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm. The hourly range for this position is $12.00 - $16.50 plus tips/gratuity. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and the work location.
