Responsibilities

• Embody La Farm values through action, example, and communication: Exceed Customer Expectations, Quality, Dignity, Community, Learning, Teaching, and Innovation.
• Ensure and exude world-class customer service and sales to internal and external customers, including greeting every customer with “bonjour” within 15 seconds and engaging verbally to sell through product knowledge and suggestive selling.
• Demonstrate expertise in preparing coffee, espresso, lattes, teas, and other specialty drinks, both on and off-menu, and use product knowledge to upsell.
• Prepare specialty coffee drinks (including latte art) on demand in a fast-paced environment while meeting ticket time goals.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as espresso machines, brewers, and grinders.
• Deliver coffee and food orders to customers, confirming orders for accuracy.
• Assist in pre-busing and busing tables throughout the shift.
• Prepare syrups from scratch and maintain the coffee station, including stocking, cleaning, and organizing.
• Answer the phone to La Farm standards and complete daily checklists.
• Perform side work, maintain safety and sanitation standards, and comply with health inspection requirements (targeting a grade “A” or better).
• Uphold company standards for opening, closing, and maintaining safe working conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Exceptional customer service skills and a demonstrated sense of urgency to serve every customer.
• Experience with customer service and/or food service preferred.
• Passion for great coffee (must be able to drink coffee).
• Experience with a manual espresso machine.
• Ability to solve business-related problems quickly and efficiently.
• Strong relationship-building skills and a positive, team-oriented demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and maintain high attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and non-consecutive days off.
• Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.
• Multi-lingual skills are a plus.

Physical Demands

• Ability to bend and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
