Barista I (Academic)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes customers while providing exceptional customer service.
• Takes orders, including offering menu recommendations and noting dietary restrictions or special requests.
• Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages and food items according to the standardized recipes or as customized for customers.
• Receives and processes payments accurately using the point of sale systems.
• Affords assistance with opening and closing duties, ensuring all stations, equipment, and storage areas are properly secured and stocked.
• Restocks supplies such as cups, lids, coffee beans, syrups and food items.
• Maintains workstations, including keeping them clean and stocked.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment, including sanitizing equipment, wiping counters, and following food safety standards.
• Maintains appropriate temperatures for storage and equipment to ensure product quality and safety.
• Monitors and records appropriate temperatures for storage and equipment to ensure product quality and safety.
• Safeguards all food prep equipment, stations and storage areas by cleaning and maintaining them.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Knowledge of sanitation and quality food service standards.
• Knowledge of weights and measures.
• Ability to effectively communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Physical Requirement

• Ability to occasionally transport/move a maximum of 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
