About the role
Baristas deliver quick, efficient, and professional service to ensure guest satisfaction while restocking merchandise and maintaining a clean coffee bar.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with guests and associates.
- Listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by coworkers and guests.
- Maintain professionalism in all situations.
- Work effectively in stressful, high-pressure environments.
- Adhere to proper uniform and grooming standards.
- Ensure lobby public areas are clean by coordinating with housekeeping.
- Assist with monthly inventory.
- Maintain a clean workspace throughout the shift.
- Follow proper procedures for accepting credit cards and checks.
- Maintain a cash bank and verify guest room numbers for room charges.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet guest needs.
- Adhere to proper food handling procedures.
- Demonstrate proper knowledge of equipment use and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in food/beverage and/or retail.
- Previous coffee house and/or hotel experience preferred.
- Cash handling and face-to-face customer service experience required.
- Ability to accurately input information into MICROS.
- Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
- Ability to work cohesively with coworkers both within and outside your department.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow up on guest requests in a fast-paced environment.
- TABC & Food Handler certification required.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Frequent bending, reaching overhead, and twisting required.
- Ability to stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
