Barista (BELL GARDENS, CA. 90201)

Parkwest Casino is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Barista / Server to join our team and make a real difference in our guests' experience. This role creates an uplifting experience for customers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares espresso-based coffee drinks and other food products available.
• Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
• Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
• Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues.
• Assists with new partner training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
• Contributes to a positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in partner morale and performance and communicating them to the store manager.
• Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer-comes-first attitude and connecting with the customer.
• Discovers and responds to customer needs.
• Follows operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift.
• Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and product as needed.
• Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background check and drug test.
• Must possess a California Food Handler Card.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have basic knowledge of various drink recipes.
• Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co-workers.
• Able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
• Available for work graveyard shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.
• Able to communicate clearly with team members.
• Able to work independently.
• Able to work within a team environment.
• Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or bartending school diploma preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience as a Barista in a facility of comparable quality desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow all safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices.
• Ability to serve customers quickly, efficiently, and kindly.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 35 pounds.
• Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.

Pay

USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $21.00/Hr.
