About the Role

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a prompt, courteous manner and explain available items in detail.
• Record the details of the order from the guest, repeating the order back to confirm accuracy.
• Promptly and accurately input orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system to inform the kitchen/bar.
• Ensure all dietary restrictions and/or allergies are noted on the ticket and communicated with culinary.
• Prepare beverage orders accurately.
• Serve guests using the proper utensils, requiring manual dexterity of hands and fingers.
• Assist with collecting and situating food orders from the kitchen.
• Ensure order forms are filled out daily for next-day service and delivered to proper departments.
• Process cash, credit card, and charge sales for all retail and food and beverage orders.
• Balance tip slips for each server.
• Run financial reports, cashier reports, and end-of-day revenue reports.
• Prepare cashier end-of-shift reports and ensure your bank is balanced.
• Check station before, during, and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
• Wipe and sanitize all work surfaces, door knobs, equipment, and pens periodically during your shift.
• Perform side duties such as restocking condiments, utensils, retail items, and beverages.
• Put away requisition/supplies from the storeroom as required.
• Assist with monthly inventory of retail items, liquor, and beverages.
• Familiarize yourself with the hotel layout and hours of operations for each outlet.
• Perform any cleaning tasks that pertain to the outlet.

Requirements

• Any combination of education that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a barista preferred.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Previous hospitality experience preferred.
• Superior professional appearance and manner, with the ability to work in a fast-paced team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs.
• Ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications, such as a food handler’s certificate or alcohol training certifications, as applicable to the position.
• Ability to work in an indoor environment, sometimes in humid or hot conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Flexibility in performing all duties.
