About the role

The Vineta Hotel seeks a Barista with personality, passion, and an exceptional commitment to hospitality to create memorable coffee and beverage experiences for guests. This role involves preparing and serving premium coffee, tea, and specialty beverages while delivering warm, personalized service that reflects the hotel's luxury standards.

Responsibilities

• Delight guests at every interaction with a warm presence, friendly demeanor, and commitment to service excellence.
• Prepare and serve specialty coffee beverages, teas, espresso-based drinks, and other café offerings according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, menu offerings, and preparation techniques to engage with guests and provide recommendations.
• Provide training to other hotel staff working in similar roles or handling equipment and preparations.
• Ensure all beverages and food items meet the hotel’s luxury service standards and Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) expectations.
• Monitor café and beverage station inventory, replenish supplies, and communicate shortages to management.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of workstations, equipment, display areas, and seating locations.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, brewing equipment, POS systems, and related café equipment.
• Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, including proper storage, handling, labeling, and rotation of products.
• Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation to ensure hotel standards are met.
• Handle guest requests, concerns, and special preferences professionally and efficiently.
• Maintain a welcoming café atmosphere by ensuring guest-facing areas are clean, stocked, and visually appealing.
• Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Culinary, Stewarding, Housekeeping, and Front Office teams for seamless guest experiences.
• Follow hotel policies on safety, security, emergency response, and guest confidentiality.
• Maintain personal appearance, grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards reflecting the luxury image of The Vineta Hotel.
• Contribute to a positive team environment promoting collaboration and exceptional service.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Food & Beverage department.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Barista, Coffee Attendant, or similar Food & Beverage role, preferably in a luxury hotel, resort, fine dining, or high-end coffee environment.
• Coffee or espresso preparation certification preferred.
• Passion for coffee, hospitality, and creating exceptional guest experiences.
• Experience operating espresso machines, coffee grinders, POS systems, and related café equipment.
• High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
• Able to comprehend, read, write, and speak basic English, including workplace policies and safety instructions.
• Full-time position with ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to navigate all hotel departments and facilities.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, crawl, and handle objects; push, pull, grasp, lift, or carry items up to 30 lbs.
