Barista

Job Duties

• Greets team members and takes orders;
• prepares and serves Starbucks espresso, coffee, tea and other beverages, as well as various food offerings, in accordance to established service standards.
• Cleans, sanitizes and maintains beverage bar area, including counters and equipment.
• Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed, including dating and monitoring expiration dates.
• Ensures consistent product availability by keeping adequate inventory; communicates shortages as necessary.
• Stocks and replenishes food, beverage, paper products and utensils as needed.
• Efficiently serves team members by being knowledgeable of offerings.
• Receives, unloads and distributes delivery orders.
• Arranges and maintains food offerings within the pastry case.
• Assists with various administrative duties including ordering products, organizing stock room, coordinating vendors, etc.
• Performs shift opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Researches and resolves quality and service complaints and/or issues, escalating those that need further resolution to supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6 months in Previous experience in a barista role; Starbucks experience strongly preferred
• 1 year in Previous experience in a customer-facing role
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet
• Strong communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Professional appearance
