Barista

Location: BEREA COLLEGE – Full‑time position. Workdays/shifts: Varying shifts, days/hours (open availability preferred). Pay Range: $14.00 – $14.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests and provide quick, friendly, and personalized service.
• Mix and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks, etc., while considering customer specifications.
• Maintain good customer relations and ensure speedy delivery of all beverages and food items.
• Educate guests regarding menu offerings and initiate suggestive selling.
• Arrange coffee bar/cart supplies and cups/mugs to create attractive displays.
• Clean coffee machines, restaurant areas, and preparation areas regularly.
• Record all sales, collect money, operate a cash register, and follow all cash‑handling procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, which may vary by account and client requirements.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Customer service‑related work experience.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation standards, and inventory control systems.
• Starbucks Barista certification may be required.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods (shifts may exceed 8 hours).
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push/pull, and frequently lift up to 35 lb (occasionally up to 50 lb).
• Reliability in attending scheduled shifts on time.
