Barista

Position Purpose & Summary

The position contributes to our success by providing prompt, courteous service for our members and guests at our in-house Beach & Cable Barista. Creates a welcoming experience by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.

Essential Functions

• Welcome all members and guests into the Barista.
• Accurately receive orders from guests.
• Ensure prompt, accurate, and consistent delivery of quality beverages and food products for all members and guests by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
• Anticipate member and/or guest and outlet needs by constantly evaluating the environment and noting cues; discover and respond to member and/or guest needs.
• Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep outlet operating to standards and to set a positive example for the team.
• Communicate with kitchen for food ordering.
• Handle all checks and cash according to established procedures.
• Communicate information to manager / supervisor so that the team can respond as necessary to create the appropriate environment during each shift.
• Assist with new team member training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
• Contribute to positive team environment by recognizing changes in employee morale and/or performance and communicating them to the outlet manager / supervisor.
• Maintain and clean entire Barista area including the patio. Keep an organized and stocked workspace so that staff can locate resources and products, as needed.
