Barista

Description Our Baristas function as the direct line to our customers. They are tasked with providing excellent customer service and maintaining a working knowledge of the products we offer. They take customer orders and prepare various items from coffee to tea and pastries as well. Our Baristas work as a team at each location striving to deliver the excellent quality and experience our customers expect from us. Essential Job Functions Greets every customer and exhibits customer first attitude, exuding the 5 Steps of Customer ServiceMaintains punctual attendanceFollows all recipes and standards - drink builds, cleanliness, workflow and customer serviceProperly operates all brew equipmentProcesses and completes customer’s orders in timely friendly mannerUnderstands various barista responsibilities - floater, register, bar, etc.Responsible for overall general tidiness of shop / cafe - including service bar, dining room, bathrooms, dish area, storage areasComplete deep cleaning tasks as outline in checklists from management teamInform leadership team of any maintenance issues in a timely mannerProperly handle any guest issues or complaints as outlined in the training materials and by leadership teamPerforms other duties as assigned Requirements Education/Experience Requirements Skills/Qualifications Previous barista experience preferred but not required Excellent verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsMeet all customer service expectations and standards in interactions with customers and fellow team membersMust possess a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with a hands-on, cooperative approach in a team environmentStrong organizational skills and accountability in completing all tasks in a thorough, accurate and timely manner Working Conditions & Physical Demands Able to lift up to 50 poundsAble to stand for prolonged periods of time frequentlyMix of standard office, manufacturing, and retail store environments
