Bariatric Surgeon

About the Role

National Wound Physician Group is seeking a part-time Bariatric Surgeon to provide bedside wound care in post-acute care settings across the Corpus Christi, TX area. This position offers clinical satisfaction, autonomy, flexibility, and work-life balance with no nights, no call, and no weekend clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver modern wound management at the bedside in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at each assigned facility
• Visit 2-3 facilities per day, treating approximately 20-30 patients per day
• Perform clinical documentation at point of care in real-time during clinical rounds using proprietary wound-specific EMR
• Participate in paid training during onboarding plus a 6-month wound care fellowship

Requirements

• Active unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in Texas
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week
• Part-time role requires at least 3 days per week
• Willingness to travel within a 40–60 mile radius of practice location
• W2 employment contract (no work visa sponsorship available)

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible Bariatric Surgeon
• Ability to become expert in wound management through training from wound-certified physician trainers and Fellowship Directors
• Comfort with using cutting-edge clinical technologies and latest wound care modalities

Schedule

• Part-time: minimum 3 days per week
• Full-time: 4–5 days per week, Monday–Friday (7am–4pm)
• No call, no weekend clinical responsibilities

Pay

W2 full-time physicians earn on average $300,000 per year plus benefits.
