About the role
A Barback / Dining Room Attendant is responsible for helping servers, bartenders, and hosts serve guests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner to provide an excellent guest experience. The position requires assisting teams when needed and embodying the company's culture and values.
Responsibilities
- Help servers, bartenders, and hosts serve guests
- Roll up sleeves to assist teams as needed
- Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction
- Respond to complaints and help resolve them
- Greet guests upon arrival and put them on a waiting list if necessary
- Provide guests with menus and answer initial questions
- Seat guests at tables or in waiting areas
- Assign guests to preferred tables while considering table rotation
- Monitor cleanliness and proper sanitization of tables, stations, and service areas
- Display exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment
- Resolve customer problems and complaints
- Perform any other duties as requested to aid in the better operation of the property and service to guests
Requirements
- Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employee issues, etc.
- Responsible for safety and security of guests, fellow associates, and hotel assets
- Knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures
- Dependable transportation available
- Able to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and in person
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Organized, honest, works well with others, and has an outgoing personality
- Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and person
- Has the highest degree of integrity and is humble, living by the Golden Rule

- Can bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch and lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds
- Can stand/walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment
- Comfortable using a step stool or ladder
- Can use/lift arms for up to 8 hours
- Comfortable with heat and stress
- Has finger dexterity for operating equipment
- Speaks in a clear, understandable voice, hears at a basic level, and understands English

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of the menu and ability to make suggestions
- Ability to manage the presentation of tableware
- Ability to monitor cleanliness and proper sanitization of tables, stations, and service areas
- Ability to display exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment
- Ability to resolve customer problems and complaints
- Ability to perform any other duties as requested to aid in the better operation of the property and service to guests
