About the Role

As a Barback at Sonesta International Hotels, you will provide essential support to all food and beverage outlets by ensuring they have the necessary materials such as ice, glasses, and coffee to operate efficiently. This role is key to delivering exceptional guest experiences across our diverse portfolio of over 1,000 properties in eight countries.

Responsibilities

• Clean all food and beverage outlets.
• Deliver ice, stock glasses, and service outlets during shifts as needed.
• Ensure outlets have the items and materials required for efficient operation.
• Wash glasses in the glass room using the washing machine.
• Deliver passionate and engaging service to guests by recognizing individual needs and exceeding expectations.
• Build solid relationships with colleagues, treating them with respect and dignity.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including assisting in other hotel areas when needed.
• Consistently deliver Sonesta’s GUEST model:
  • Greet or welcome everyone warmly with a smile.
  • Use eye and ear contact and the guest’s name.
  • Establish and anticipate needs.
  • Solve and own all requests or complaints.
  • Thank everyone.

Requirements

• Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experiences.
• Strong communication skills, utilized frequently for training, safety, and guest interactions.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to work well with others in a productive manner.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and handle standardized situations with occasional or no variables.
• Valid Louisiana Responsible Vendor Server’s Permit required.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk.
• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
