About the role
The ideal applicant is fun, enthusiastic, and passionate, with a good attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to stay calm under pressure. No experience is needed—we provide award-winning training. Whether you're seeking a long-term career or extra shifts, if you're reliable, friendly, and enjoy teamwork, this role could be perfect for you.
At a glance, your role involves serving food and drinks to specification, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service. Our pubs operate early mornings to late nights, offering flexible shifts including weekends and late finishes.

- Deliver food to customers, complete check-backs, and clear plates within required timeframes.
- Provide friendly customer interactions: greet, thank, and build rapport.
- Stay knowledgeable about promotions, events, and new products.
- Maintain "clean as you go" standards: clear tables, wipe surfaces, and perform toilet checks.
- Work across all areas, including glass-washing, restocking fridges, clearing floors/beer gardens, and other duties as needed.
Benefits
- Competitive pay rate of £12.81 per hour (under-18s may receive a lower rate, always above national guidelines).
- £1 extra per hour for shifts worked between midnight and 5:59 AM.
- Free meal and drink during shifts.
- 20% discount on food, drinks, and hotel accommodation (for you and up to three guests) when not working.
- Bonus scheme—earn up to 19% of your pay.
- Options for guaranteed-hours or variable-hours contracts.
- Paid holiday.
- Free shares after a qualifying period.
- Loyalty reward scheme.
Progression and development
Most Wetherspoon team leaders and managers started in the kitchen or behind the bar. If you're looking to progress, we offer:
- Structured on-the-job training.
- Apprenticeships and management academies.
- Cross-training into other areas (kitchen, hotel).
- Opportunities to move into team-leader, kitchen-shift-leader, or pub-manager roles.
We promote an inclusive working environment where everyone is welcome to be themselves. We ensure all employees have the skills and knowledge for a great career with us.
Schedule
- 10 hours per week (minimum).
- Flexible shifts across all days, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and late finishes.
