About the role
This is an on-call banquet staff position encompassing multiple roles: Concessions Attendant, Porter, Bartender, and Server. Team members may perform duties across these areas based on event needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent guest service in a fast-paced environment.
- Serve food, beverages, or desserts to customers; take orders and process payments (cash, debit, credit).
- Replenish and prepare food at serving stations; maintain cleanliness of counters, tables, and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet rooms, hallways, storage, and service areas.
- Routinely inventory and care for banquet supplies (linens, chairs, china, glassware, flatware, decorations).
- Set up and reset banquet rooms per Banquet Event Order (BEO) specifications.
- Transport tables, equipment, and report maintenance issues to management.
- Prepare drinks according to recipes; fulfill cocktail orders in a timely manner.
- Maintain bar area cleanliness and assist with inventory control and stocking.
- Handle all bar transactions in accordance with cash handling policy.
- Set up and break down bar areas; perform side work and projects as assigned.
- Adhere to sanitation and health department regulations for safe alcohol handling.
- Perform responsible alcohol service, including patron limitations and required training.
- Interact with guests to build loyalty and maintain excellent guest relations.
- Maintain current knowledge of daily menus, prices, and required supplies.
- Set up event space, buffets, tables, service carts, dessert, and action stations per BEO.
- Circulate event areas to provide service; pass hors d’oeuvres during cocktail receptions.
- Adhere to all Food and Beverage safety and quality regulations.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be able to obtain a Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC) license.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
