Responsibilities
- Perform preparatory tasks and side work duties to ensure prompt and efficient service to guests.
- Know how to read the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and be familiar with the menu of the assigned function.
- Serve guests according to hotel standards in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents, and communicate to management if necessary.
- Set all tables according to hotel standards.
- Maintain the banquet storeroom in a neat and orderly manner, stocked with appropriate supplies.
- Clean-up banquet space after the function and ensure proper storage and re-stocking of equipment and supplies.
- Prepare rooms according to the Banquet Event Order and various meal functions.
- Follow all money handling procedures when serving guests.
- Know the menu items for each function served and provide accurate descriptions.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent, and/or experience in hotel or a related field preferred.
- Flexible and willing to work long hours, possibly including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and up to 30 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Standing for the entire shift.
- Effective listener, problem solver, multitasker, and prioritizer.
- Attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented demeanor.
- Initiative in anticipating guest or operational needs.
