About the role
We are seeking a hospitality-focused team member to support catered functions, private celebrations, conferences, and special hotel events. This role combines attentive banquet service with as-needed bar service to help create smooth, memorable experiences for guests. The ideal candidate brings a warm, professional presence, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced event environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and break down banquet and bar areas according to event specifications and service standards.
- Provide prompt, courteous food and beverage service during meetings, banquets, receptions, and other hotel events.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with hotel procedures and applicable laws.
- Interact with guests in a professional, friendly manner to ensure an exceptional event experience.
- Coordinate with kitchen, banquet, and event teams to support seamless service delivery.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to requests, concerns, or special needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, glassware, bar tools, and banquet equipment.
- Follow responsible alcohol service practices and verify age identification when required.
- Accurately handle orders, payments, and end-of-shift procedures as assigned.
- Adhere to hotel policies, safety standards, and health and sanitation guidelines.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in banquet service, restaurant service, bartending, or a similar hospitality role preferred.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service procedures and basic cocktail preparation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment with changing event needs.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, and move items related to event service for extended periods.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Any required alcohol service certifications or local licensing must be maintained as applicable.
