Banquet Houseperson - Resort

About the Role

Ensure proper set up and tear down of meeting and banquet facilities in accordance with Big Cedar Lodge Food and Beverage standards and guest requests.

Responsibilities

• Properly sets up, maintains, and tears down banquet functions.
• Maintains a clean, neat appearance, adheres to uniform specifications, and reports to work for scheduled shifts.
• Responsible for maintaining a high degree of cleanliness throughout function space, storage areas, and vehicles.
• Keeps all equipment clean and in good working condition.
• Follows mandatory service requirements as described by the manual.
• Adheres to all resort and company policies, rules, and regulations.
• Reports repairs or safety issues.
• Takes the initiative to greet all guests and fellow associates.
• Facilitates all guest requests in a timely and courteous manner.
• Complies with state liquor laws and health regulations.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Missouri class E or Arkansas P designated driver's license and a safe driving record required; ongoing verification of driving eligibility will be conducted.
• Ability to work well with a team, prioritize tasks, demonstrate a sense of urgency, and show genuine concern for guest satisfaction.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to taste or smell.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
