About the Role
Ensure proper set up and tear down of meeting and banquet facilities in accordance with Big Cedar Lodge Food and Beverage standards and guest requests.
Responsibilities
- Properly sets up, maintains, and tears down banquet functions.
- Maintains a clean, neat appearance, adheres to uniform specifications, and reports to work for scheduled shifts.
- Responsible for maintaining a high degree of cleanliness throughout function space, storage areas, and vehicles.
- Keeps all equipment clean and in good working condition.
- Follows mandatory service requirements as described by the manual.
- Adheres to all resort and company policies, rules, and regulations.
- Reports repairs or safety issues.
- Takes the initiative to greet all guests and fellow associates.
- Facilitates all guest requests in a timely and courteous manner.
- Complies with state liquor laws and health regulations.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Missouri class E or Arkansas P designated driver's license and a safe driving record required; ongoing verification of driving eligibility will be conducted.
- Ability to work well with a team, prioritize tasks, demonstrate a sense of urgency, and show genuine concern for guest satisfaction.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to taste or smell.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
