Banquet Houseperson

About the role

The Houseman plays a vital role on the Banquets Team by ensuring all meetings and events are correctly set-up to guarantee a memorable experience for Members, families, and guests. No experience necessary but must be willing to learn through on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Break-down and set-up meeting and event rooms daily, including setting up AV equipment, stripping the room of all furniture, and resetting per BEO (Banquet Event Order) specifications.
• Properly care for, move, and store equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, dance floor, lecterns, and room supplies (linen, pads, pens/pencils, candy, etc.).
• Clean and maintain meeting and event rooms: straightening chairs, changing soiled table linen, emptying trash, restocking materials (pads, pens).
• Participate as a team member with Banquet Servers, Bartenders, Bar-backs, Cooks, Captains, Managers, and other staff to produce a smoothly run operation meeting the highest customer service standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• May be required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work weekends.
• Position requires mobility: frequently sit, kneel, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects.
• Duties require attentiveness to visual and audible cues.
• May be required to work in cold, heat, and sun for periods of time.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• May be required to climb step stools and ladders of varying heights.
• Must be a team player, capable of working under pressure.

Pay

Starting at $17.00 per hour.

Schedule

Full-time; flexible schedule including varying days, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
