About the Role

This position is responsible for the set-up, maintenance, and take-down of banquet areas according to banquet specifications. Provides transportation and set-up of tables, chairs, staging, audio-visual, and electrical equipment. Stocks necessary supplies and performs basic banquet area cleaning duties while following CSM and brand standards to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure each room set-up is accurate and meets clients’ specifications.
  • Set up, maintain, and take down banquet rooms according to function specifications before and after events.
  • Read and interpret Banquet Event Orders to ensure proper room set-up.
  • Clean and maintain banquet rooms and equipment, including other assigned cleaning duties.
  • Transport food, assist the dishwasher, and plate for banquet events as needed.
  • Work independently and sometimes alone while anticipating and responding to internal and external customers in a friendly, positive, and timely manner.
  • Act as a team player to meet guest needs and contribute to the efforts of other departments when necessary.
  • Use banquet collateral and equipment properly while adhering to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
  • Report defective property to management and maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with CSM, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follow all CSM procedures for guest and associate incidents and be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize work duties to produce the required volume of work.
  • Adhere to CSM attendance policy, grooming/appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures.
  • Attend all required department and hotel meetings.
  • Assist others within and outside the department to ensure all guest needs are met.
  • Complete all assigned duties within or outside the normal scope of responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated exemplary customer service and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast-paced environment.
  • No mandatory educational requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds consistently throughout the shift, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding position involving walking, standing, carrying, lifting, reaching, bending, and moving throughout the shift.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and communicate in at least some English.
  • One or more years of previous experience in a houseperson or banquet houseperson role.

Pay

$17.00/hour
