About the Role
Join Destination Geneva National’s premier culinary team as a Banquet Cook, working closely with the Banquet Chef and culinary team to prepare and deliver exceptional cuisine for banquets, conferences, weddings, and other special events.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Banquet Chef in the preparation of menu items for banquets and events, following standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Prepare a variety of appetizers, salads, main courses, desserts, and other culinary offerings, ensuring high-quality taste, texture, and presentation.
- Coordinate with the Banquet Chef and kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of food.
- Execute cooking techniques with precision and attention to detail, maintaining the desired flavor, texture, and consistency of dishes.
- Ensure proper cooking temperatures and monitor food items to prevent overcooking or undercooking.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to coordinate and synchronize the preparation and plating of multiple dishes for large-scale banquets and events.
- Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards, following HACCP guidelines and local health regulations.
- Properly handle, store, and rotate food products (using FIFO) to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, as well as assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks.
- Assist in the final plating and presentation of dishes, ensuring visual appeal and adherence to banquet standards.
- Apply garnishes, sauces, and artistic touches to enhance the visual impact of each plate.
- Collaborate with the Banquet Chef to ensure consistency in presentation across all banquet events.
- Collaborate effectively with the culinary team, assisting in the coordination of activities and maintaining open lines of communication.
- Support and assist other kitchen staff as needed, fostering a positive and cooperative work environment.
- Communicate any special requests, dietary restrictions, or guest preferences to the Banquet Chef and culinary team.
