About the Role

Join the team at Art Ovation Hotel, Autograph Collection in Sarasota, Florida—a boutique hotel that celebrates creativity, culture, and the vibrant arts community. This role ensures adherence to state sanitation and health regulations while maintaining high standards of food production, kitchen operations, and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation, health regulations, and hotel requirements.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Ensure proper maintenance, use, and safety of kitchen equipment and tools.
• Establish, maintain, and train staff on operational standards and safe working conditions.
• Hire, train, and supervise kitchen employees; assign work, appraise performance, and address complaints.
• Handle guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
• Plan, prep, and execute high-quality food production for menu items and specials according to standards and plating guides.
• Direct and monitor kitchen staff performance.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience as a line cook; prior supervisory experience preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent; culinary training certification preferred.
• Safe food handling certificate.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as banquet event orders (B.E.O.’s), safety rules, and procedure manuals.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
