About The Venue
The Sevierville Convention Center exceeds expectations by offering a facility designed for competitive arts, trade and retail shows, conventions, retreats, seminars, banquets, receptions, and holiday parties. The ballroom accommodates up to 1,500 people and can be adapted for more intimate events. Two exhibit halls provide 107,562 square feet of function space, complemented by small meeting rooms. The center is located at 202 Gists Creek Road, Sevierville, TN, nestled on a hilltop with views of the Smoky Mountains and the Sevierville Golf Club. The area offers retail shopping, dining, entertainment, and lodging, making it a treasured destination for guests.
Responsibilities
- Reviews assigned banquet staff functions and banquet menus prior to scheduled events.
- Conducts pre-banquet meetings with staff to ensure appearance and hygiene standards, assign stations, and review banquet event orders.
- Communicates with the Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager or event coordinator to confirm all event details are planned and met.
- Ensures timely updates and instructions are communicated.
- Verifies availability of china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other items; secures requisitions for unavailable inventory.
- Checks room set-up prior to events and confirms food quantities and timing with the Executive Chef.
- Ensures proper handling and storage of equipment (china, glassware, silverware, linen, props).
- Conducts random audits during functions to evaluate food and service quality, including temperature, presentation, and availability.
- Reviews banquet schedules for changes, calendar updates, and special events.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
- Must have regular and reliable attendance.
Pay
Hourly rate of $18.00–$22.00.
