Banquet Captain (Hospitality)

Three Leaf Catering, part of the University of Notre Dame’s Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division, oversees event management, hospitality, and customer service functions across campus.

About the role

The Banquet Captain ensures flawless execution of food and beverage service for events, campus partners, and university vendors while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the smooth execution of food and beverage service throughout events.
• Review upcoming assigned events and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) in advance.
• Consult with the event specialist who planned the event to clarify details and address questions.
• Ensure event spaces are clean and ready prior to vendor arrival and that setup is executed flawlessly.
• Maintain constant communication with clients to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Manage problems, navigate last-minute changes, and resolve issues as they arise.

Requirements

• Must be available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
• Ability to manage people and time effectively.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Capable of standing for extended periods (up to 6 hours at a time).
• Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products.

Pay

$19.50 per hour plus gratuity.
