Banquet Captain

Troon Country Club, located in Scottsdale, AZ, is seeking a driven full-time Banquet Captain for a seasonal role (6 months or less) within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Responsibilities

• Reviews assigned banquet staff functions and banquet menus prior to the scheduled event.
• Conducts pre-banquet meetings with staff to ensure appearance and hygiene standards are met, assign stations and partners, and review banquet event orders.
• Communicates with the Banquet Manager or other assigned coordinator to ensure all details have been planned for and met; ensures changes and further instructions are made in a timely manner.
• Ensures appropriate quantities of China, glassware, silverware, linens, and other items are available for upcoming events; secures requisitions for unavailable inventory.
• Checks room setup prior to the event and meets with the Banquet Chef to confirm food quantities and timing.
• Ensures proper handling and storage of all equipment (e.g., China, glassware, silverware, linens, props) after use.
• Conducts random audits during functions to evaluate food and service, ensuring proper temperature, presentation, availability, and upsell opportunities.
• Regularly reviews the banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs other duties as required.
