Banquet Captain

About the role

As a Banquet Captain, you’ll lead the team in executing seamless events—from setup to breakdown—ensuring every detail meets client expectations. You'll coordinate service staff, manage timelines, and serve as the main point of contact during functions. This role is perfect for those with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. You will report to the Banquet Manager.

A career as a Banquet Captain can pave the way to various management roles, such as Banquet Manager, Event Planner, or Director of Catering and Conference Services.

Responsibilities

• Supervise banquet staff during events
• Coordinate event logistics and timelines
• Liaise with clients to ensure expectations are met
• Lead setup and breakdown of events
• Serve as the main point of contact during functions

Requirements

• Eligible to work in the United States
• Sufficient education and/or literacy to read product labels and communicate with guests
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and lift as required (with or without reasonable accommodations)
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Previous experience in a similar or related position (required)
• Previous experience as a Banquet Captain (preferred)
• Hotel experience (a plus)
• A combination of education and hospitality experience will be considered
