About the role

The Bartender-Banquet mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes at cash and hosted bars. Ensures the banquet bar is set up appropriately and stocked with supplies, maintains accurate inventory records, and adheres to cash handling procedures, policies, and rules.

Responsibilities

  • Set up bars and accessories as directed by BEO and Banquet Captain.
  • Serve liquor, beer, soda, juice, and mixed drinks with standard garnishments.
  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Utilize POS system proficiently.
  • Accept payment for guest’s orders when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate consumption sheets and related paperwork.
  • Balance cash receipts and process bank according to standard operating procedures at the conclusion of the event.
  • Comply with all inventory control measures.
  • Break down bar and store supplies at the end of the function.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area following sanitation standards.
  • Assist with banquet staff duties as directed.
  • Create, maintain, and facilitate a positive work environment.
  • Engage guests and team members with a positive, professional demeanor.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Three (3) years of bartending experience required; completion of Bartending School or equivalent training with two (2) years of bartending experience may substitute.
  • One (1) year of banquet bartending experience required.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a high-volume Banquet/Catering operation, with one (1) year of fine dining service required.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid WA State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid MAST certification.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a STATE OR TRIBAL Gaming License.

Skills

  • Excellent guest service and communication skills.
  • Proven knowledge and skill in mixology, beer, wines, and alcohol safety awareness.
  • Working knowledge of POS systems and BERG liquor dispensing system.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with guests, co-workers, management, and vendors.
  • Mature judgment and professionalism in handling all matters.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and converse in English fluently.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Strong guest service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tolerance for varying noise, smoke, and temperature levels.
