About the Role
A growing law firm based in NYC is seeking a Bankruptcy Associate with 3-5 years of relevant experience in bankruptcy and creditors' rights, specifically in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 proceedings, commercial collections and enforcement actions, loan workouts and restructuring, and litigation involving secured and unsecured creditors.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and filing of bankruptcy petitions and related documents
- Advise clients on bankruptcy-related matters
- Represent clients in bankruptcy court hearings
- Prepare and present legal arguments in support of client interests
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement strategies for debt relief and restructuring
- Monitor and analyze case developments to ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Manage and maintain client files and records
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in New York
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in bankruptcy and creditors’ rights
- Experience in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy proceedings
- Experience with commercial collections and enforcement actions
- Experience with loan workouts and restructuring
- Experience with litigation involving secured and unsecured creditors
Qualifications
Competitive base salary between $150k and $200k!
Paid time off: 20 vacation days, 10 sick/personal days (no payout for leftover PTO, no rollover)
