BANKING & FINANCIAL REPORTING ACCOUNTANT

Typical Qualifications

• Performs other related duties as required and as directed.
• Working knowledge of governmental accounting and budgeting principles and procedures.
• Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
• Working knowledge of data processing applications as it relates to accounting and proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Working knowledge of Power Point.
• Ability to review, analyze and interpret fiscal records.
• Ability to maintain records and to prepare and submit reports.
• Ability to prepare complex journal entries.
• Ability to prepare various state reports and forms.
• Ability to analyze and perform research on computerized and/or manual records.
• Ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to operate standard office machines (copier, scan, fax).
• Proficient with a 10-key adding machine.
• Knowledge of accounting terms and principles.

Qualifications

Desirable Experience And Training

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Possess at least three (3) years’ experience in general governmental accounting and or governmental internal audit responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

• Light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials up to twenty (20) pounds.
• Descending and climbing stairways and extended periods of walking may be required during field activities.
• Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment.
• Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
• Sensory: The ability to perceive and differentiate visual cues or signals. Tasks require the ability to communicate orally and in writing.
