About the role

First Hawaiian Bank is seeking a collaborative, customer-focused, goals-oriented Banking Consultant to join our Waikiki Branch. You will deliver an exceptional in-branch customer service experience by proactively engaging with customers to identify needs, demonstrating digital banking options, fulfilling day-to-day transactional needs, and advising on the full range of financial products and services. You will also identify referral opportunities to subject matter experts or relationship bankers.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill customers’ day-to-day transactional needs.
  • Advise customers on financial products and services to suit their needs.
  • Identify and refer opportunities to subject matter experts or relationship bankers.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a business-related field, equivalent work experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 2 years’ experience in a sales and service environment.
  • 2 years of cash handling experience.
  • 2 years of experience in customer service, referrals, and sales.
  • Professional-level bilingual capability in English and Japanese (reading, writing, speaking) preferred.
  • Retail/branch banking experience in operations and sales or similar financial services experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of banking/financial products and services; ability to comprehend finance and credit concepts.
  • Welcoming presence when interacting with customers.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Digitally savvy with confidence in using digital banking technology for routine needs.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through.
  • Agile and resourceful in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Upbeat, positive, growth mindset, and quick learner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters judiciously.

Pay

Pay range is $21.50–$25.50/hour, plus sales incentives.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (hours may vary).
