About the Role

A Banking Center Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies focused on branch profitability and performance. The position leads and develops the branch team while maximizing branch performance, gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership
    • Assess and coach the branch team, providing constructive feedback to increase overall effectiveness and ensure accountability.
    • Embrace new technology and stay updated on industry changes to foster idea generation and innovation.
    • Oversee all aspects of branch team employment, including training, scheduling, performance appraisals, salary changes, promotions, transfers, corrective action, and termination.
    • Drive engagement by creating and fostering ongoing career development plans for the branch team.
    • Serve as the primary liaison for complex, escalated situations.
    • Fulfill talent management accountabilities, including succession planning, attracting and retaining top talent, and developing strong bench strength.
    • Develop trusting and cooperative working relationships with customers and associates.
    • Maintain a positive working environment by building team morale and providing ongoing recognition.
    • Create brand awareness by representing the bank at community, charitable, and civic events.
    • Proactively seek continuing education opportunities to enhance leadership skills.
    • Be highly proficient in customer-facing technology and lead discussions to enroll customers in self-service products/processes.
  • Performance Management
    • Ensure consistent execution of the Community Bank playbook for overall branch success.
    • Foster and drive activities for consumer loan growth, including:
      • Customer educational seminars
      • Client retention calls
      • New client prospecting
      • Outbound telephone calling efforts
      • Networking events
    • Work with staff to encourage needs-based customer conversations through Relationship Builder coaching and observations.
    • Develop and maintain a mature Center of Influence (COI) base of community and business leaders to gain additional business through referrals.
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with internal line-of-business leaders.
    • Compile data and prepare various branch and management reports as assigned.
    • Balance business needs with customer requests while managing potential risk to the bank.
  • Operations
    • Ensure all safety and security procedures are followed; serve as the primary branch security contact and business continuity leader.
    • Ensure branch adherence to AML/BSA requirements (e.g., Customer Identification Program, Account Opening Customer Due Diligence, ongoing profiling, Enhanced Due Diligence, OFAC, Suspect Activity Forms) and other regulated banking requirements.
    • Follow up on all audit, scorecard, and quality control deficiencies.
    • Report and resolve customer complaints.
    • Practice ethical sales behaviors in accordance with the Associate Code of Conduct and Sales Practices Policy.
    • Function in any branch capacity as needed, including Teller, Client Advisor, and Teller Manager roles.
    • Manage the branch budget, including scorecards, profit, income, and expenses.
    • Implement strategies to improve revenue generation while managing costs.
    • Oversee facility management and branch security, including ATM, drive-thru, branch building, and aesthetics.
    • Maintain and test Business Continuity Plans and Recovery Procedures; address and mitigate issues identified through testing or audits.
    • Conduct annual awareness training with team members on response strategies and recovery action plans.
    • Adhere to Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct.
  • Business Development & Credit Acumen
    • Source Treasury Management solutions and services, as well as small business lending needs.
    • Demonstrate a basic understanding of all consumer products and services, with a strong emphasis on consumer lending.
    • Show basic knowledge of small business deposit and lending products and services.
    • Observe joint sales calls with line-of-business partners.
    • Develop introductory knowledge of all consumer credit facilities, including:
      • Structuring proper terms and products based on customer needs.
      • Basic understanding of personal financial statements and tax returns to identify creditworthiness and risk potential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree or 5+ years of experience in retail sales and/or financial services required.
  • Proficient in all consumer lending products and maintain an active NMLS registration status.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • PC proficiency in desktop, laptop, tablet, and smartphone devices, as well as Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Able to proactively lead, manage, motivate, and coach associates to produce desired results.
  • 2+ years of consumer lending experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of business development experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of external business development skills.
  • 2+ years of previous supervisory experience required.
