Bank/Cash Accountant

About the role

Responsibilities

• Processing, printing, preparing, and packaging official checks according to established procedures and controls.
• Verifying payee names, check amounts, account information, serial numbers, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintaining accurate tracking logs for transaction details, courier pickups, and chain-of-custody requirements.
• Following dual-control, maker-checker, approval, and escalation requirements to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
• Supporting daily balancing, reconciliation, reporting, and quality control activities.
• Communicating professionally with internal partners, approvers, and team members regarding status, questions, and exceptions.
• Protecting confidential client and bank information at all times and meeting required service levels and deadlines.

Requirements

• High attention to detail and ability to accurately perform repetitive, high-risk tasks.
• Experience following written procedures, control requirements, and approval workflows exactly as documented.
• Strong accountability, reliability, and follow-through on assigned work.
• Able to work on site during required banking center hours (virtual work is not available).
• Experience with banking, customer service, data entry, and Microsoft Office Suite (3-5+ years of banking experience is a plus).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a similar role preferred.
