About the Role
This individual must have a proven track record of driving results, inspiring, engaging, and empowering students and families through music, establishing and maintaining a culture of high expectations, building effective relationships with students, families, and peers, ensuring fidelity to curriculum, instructional excellence, and best-practices in assessment, and embracing the challenges facing urban schools with a mantra of "No Excuses" and a willingness to do "Whatever it takes."
Responsibilities
- Proficiently play and teach brass/woodwind instruments and form a playing band
- Drive results for students and families through music education
- Build a culture of high expectations and effective relationships
- Educate and assess students according to curriculum and best practices
- Engage students and families in the learning process
- Work closely with the principal and other staff members
Requirements
- CT State 049 Certification
- An accredited Bachelor's or Master's Degree
- At least three years of teaching experience at the middle school level
Qualifications
- Highly motivated and mission-driven
- Proven track record of driving results
- Willingness to embrace challenges and do whatever it takes
Benefits

Pay
- $50,000 per year
Schedule
- Standard teacher work schedule
- Attendance at professional development, open houses, parent conferences, and staff meetings as needed
