What You’ll Do

• Work with meat cutting/packaging machines and other equipment to process meat products for the consumer.
• Require technical knowledge of computerized equipment.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as continuous/repetitive movement, standing on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift, working around animal blood and/or carcass parts, working with a knife, working in cold and/or warm areas, working in a noisy environment, using personal protective equipment (PPE), working with sanitation/cleaning chemicals, and working around strong smells/odors.
• May require certification to operate various pieces of equipment required for the position.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms.
• Standing on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift.
• Working around animal blood and/or carcass parts.
• Working with a knife (if trained).
• Working in cold areas (approximately 20-40 degrees) and/or warm areas (over 100 degrees).
• Working in a noisy environment using personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Walking long distances.
• Bending, stooping, and twisting repetitively over the course of an entire shift.
• May require repetitive overhead lifting up to 30 lbs, single lifting of heavy objects which can weigh up to 60 lbs, or lifting of objects using mechanical assistance.

Prior Experience & Training

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willing and able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Willing and able to perform tasks requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms.
• Willing and able to stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift.
• Willing and able to work around animal blood and/or carcass parts.
• Willing and able to work with a knife (if trained).
• Willing and able to work in cold and/or warm areas.
• Willing and able to work in a noisy environment using personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Willing and able to work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals.
• Willing and able to work around strong smells/odors.
• May require certification to operate various pieces of equipment required for the position.
