About the role

We are seeking a Bakery Trainer 1 - 2nd Shift to join our team at our Cayce bakery. As a Bakery Trainer 1, you will be accountable for developing, delivering, and maintaining production training programs that build workforce capability, ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, and support operational excellence across Cookies, Muffins, and Bread manufacturing operations. The Bakery Trainer 1 plays a critical role in strengthening employee skills, closing training gaps, improving operational performance, and supporting a safe, efficient, and highly skilled workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive training programs for new hires, existing associates, and temporary-to-permanent employees across production departments.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, SOPs, work instructions, certifications, and skill matrices to support standardized job performance.
  • Evaluate associate competencies and certify employees on production positions using established training frameworks.
  • Identify training needs and skill gaps through audits, observations, testing, and performance assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by utilizing KPI data to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP requirements, food safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies during all training activities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Inventory, Warehouse, Operations, and HR teams to support workforce development objectives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and updating standard operating procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Experience supporting training within a regulated food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, use a computer regularly, and wear required PPE.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in food manufacturing or a related production environment.
  • Previous experience in training, coaching, mentoring, or employee development.
  • Experience in bakery manufacturing, including Cookies, Muffins, or Bread production.
  • Experience supporting associate certification programs and skills-based training systems.
  • Certification in training, instructional design, adult learning, or a related discipline.

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and manufacturing production floor environment.
  • Frequent time spent on the production floor observing processes, developing training programs, and conducting hands-on training.
  • Must comply with all food safety, GMP, PPE, and company safety requirements.

Schedule

  • Shift: 2nd Shift
  • Hours: Must be available to support all production shifts as business needs dictate.
  • Weekend Availability: As required by business needs

Pay

Pay Range: $26-$28/Hour; DOQ
