About the role
The Bakery Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market is responsible for overseeing the bakery department, ensuring product quality, managing budgets, and maintaining compliance with company standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily baking, production, and display of bakery products
- Evaluate department conditions and operations to identify areas for improvement
- Ensure adherence to safety, food handling, sanitation, and productivity standards
- Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
- Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit
- Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and development discussions
- Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager
- Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns and take corrective actions when needed
- Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members
- Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience for customers
- Serve as a Key Carrier for the store or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience
- Dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Outgoing and friendly behavior, with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers
- Good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction in a team environment
- Able to answer phones and take special orders
- Able to perform general housekeeping tasks in the department, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas
- Able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, lift up to 5 lbs., and move items up to 40 lbs. for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance
- Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
