Bakery /Deli Clerk

About the role

This position involves obtaining requested Deli or Bakery items for customers, wrapping or packaging items, using a cash register to total orders, accepting payment, and making change.

Responsibilities

• Fry chicken, jo jo's, burritos, and put chicken on rotisserie in the oven for baking.
• Makes sandwiches, salads, pizzas, popcorn, cotton candy, slices meats or cheese on a slicer.
• Slices bread and packages bakery products while working in the Bakery.
• Stocks and cleans Deli/Bakery areas as needed.

Essential Functions

• Work in a standing position for 4-8 hours a day.
• Use hand, arms, and fingers to handle tools or operate power equipment.
• Use good suggestive selling techniques to educate customers about products in Bakery and Deli.
• Locate products for customers, prepare to desired requests, price, label, and package products.
• Cook chicken, burritos, and other hot foods, make sandwiches, salads, pizzas, popcorn, cotton candy, slice meats, cheeses, ladle salads out, obtain doughnuts, pastry, cakes from cases for customers.
• Use store intercom to alert customers of Bakery/Deli products.
• Keep work stations clean and sanitary.
• Restock products as needed and garnish as needed.
• Receive money and make change.
